ROCKIN' JOKER CLUB CHATTER November 2007 by Marv and Ina Tanner (Published in Squares 'Round the Bay, 11/07) |
Our new club
jackets arrived, and they are attractive with our club logo on the
back. Thanks to Kitty & Greg LaFavor for having these jackets
made. Recognition goes to Debbie Malloy for being elected
as Treasurer of SCVSDA and to Joe & Marion Pava and Karl Belser for
completing their term as SCVSDA President and First Vice-President,
respectively. Doug Bates is now sheriff along with Pete Talanay; we now have to be on our good behavior and to be sure to wear our badges. At the suggestion of Jim Faltersack, a new member, we have started gathering at Los Gatos Pizza Company after our weekly dances. Some of our friends and members have been under the weather. Kevin Scott, Marleah's husband, fell from a ladder and broke his hip. Marion Pava is recovering from her knee surgery. Josie Baumgartner is being treated for back problems. Marge Elizondo and Jackie Daemion are recovering from surgery. We certainly wish them well. Many Rockin' Jokers attended the festivities at the SCVSDA Jubilee, including our club sponsoring the Hospitality Room and Stations and helping angel at the New Dancer Activities. Next month we will report on the Bocci Ball and BBQ party at St. Francis Cabrini and the Halloween HOooooDOWN; these events have yet to happen as of this writing. The change in location for our HOooooDOWN from John Muir to Branham schools was ably arranged by our President, Jackie Daemion. It is time again to have our elections. There's not a lot of politicking going on, but we are certain to have a good slate of candidates. As always, we are anticipating an enjoyable evening at the Annual Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner and Salvation Army Toy Dance, again coordinated by Jane Bishop. * * *
